Forget repetitive buffets and watered-down drinks – with us, all-inclusive is all about gourmet dining, complimentary Taittinger and more activities than you’ll know what to do with.
If you like your holidays hassle-free, you’re probably already familiar with all-inclusive. And when these hotels say all-inclusive, they mean it. Instead of annoying restrictions and limited restaurant options, you can expect things like daily spa treatments, to-die-for dining and ice-cream on tap (it’s meant for the kids, but we won’t judge you for having a few scoops). They’re all slightly different in what they offer, but each one has been hand-picked for having an all-inclusive package that’s a cut above the rest. So get more from your stay with these simply amazing all-inclusive holidays.
Ikos Resorts, Greece
Ikos (the people behind Halkidiki’s Ikos Oceania and Ikos Olivia, and Corfu’s Ikos Dassia) has created a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘all-inclusive’, and it goes by the name of Infinite Lifestyle. It’s all about upscale à la carte. There’s a variety of restaurants to choose from – think Greek, Italian, Asian and French, some with menus designed by Michelin-starred chefs. Mouth watering yet? We’ve not even mentioned the ‘dine out’ programme. Ikos has partnered up with a handful of top-notch local restaurants to take its all-inclusive outside the hotel walls and into the traditional tavernas nearby. We’re definitely calling it – this idea is going to be a hit!
“I think it’s great that there are local tavernas included in the Infinity Lifestyle, as well as the hotel’s own restaurants. The complimentary Taittinger Champagne is a very nice touch too.” Lewis Parker, Travel Expert
Sure, holidays are about relaxing and indulging – but at The BodyHoliday, they’re also about looking after yourself. Set on St Lucia’s north coast, it’s the ultimate wellness retreat, with daily spa treatments included (we love the serenity massage and the zingy lime and ginger body scrub) and a huge list of sports and activities. Start your day with a fitness class on the beach or a Hatha yoga session, then take to the water in the afternoon for kayaking, paddle boarding or snorkelling. As for cuisine, it’s all about fresh, organic produce, lots of it grown in the hotel’s own garden. Of course, it wouldn’t be the Caribbean without a few cocktails, and the all-inclusive package throws in a healthy dose of those too.
“My top tip for a visit to the BodyHoliday would be to lose your inhibitions and take part in activities you wouldn’t do at home – you might end up finding a new favourite!” Clare Mardell, Customer Relations Executive
The Olympic Lagoon has one of the best addresses in town, located on a Blue Flag Beach. This hotel has family fun written all over it, with a little help from its all-inclusive package. Just try tearing your kids away from the Blue Lagoon Bar with its all-day ice-creams. Cyprus meets the USA at the Rock ‘n’ Roll diner. Burgers, sandwiches, fries, milkshakes – you name it, this 50s-themed eatery has it on the menu. As the sun sets, parents can treat themselves to a sundowner from the range of premium local tipples. Well-deserved we reckon.
The dining scene here is worlds away from reheated buffets. The restaurant count includes the gourmet Cocina de Autor with its molecular tasting menu, a Mexican eatery complete with in-house margarita mixologist, and a Parisian-style venue dishing up oysters and escargots. Too comfy in your suite? No problem, in-room dining is part of the deal too (along with a 24/7 butler and concierge service).
If you’re the kind of person that gets itchy feet sunbathing, then you’ll love the JA Palm Tree Court. Opt for their all-inclusive option and you’ll have a list of activities as long as your arm to keep you busy. Cool off with a bit of windsurfing, dinghy sailing and kayaking; if you prefer to stay dry, why not try your hand at tennis, badminton or volleyball (or a camel ride – they’re included, too). If you need to refuel after all that, you can take your pick from 10 restaurants.
“A complimentary round of golf is included in your package – Tiger Woods and Ernie Els have played at the hotel’s nine-hole course.” Annick Barbaria, Travel Expert
