From spectacular sunsets to rural mountain vistas, we asked our team to pick out some of their favourite hotel rooms with a view…
“My favourites are the mountain view rooms at Jumeirah Port Soller in Majorca. These rooms overlook the UNESCO-protected Tramuntana Mountains, which are absolutely stunning (sometimes you can even spot goats grazing on them too!). As the sun rises over the mountains, my favourite thing to do is open the curtains using the bedside buttons and watch the sun rise from the comfort of my bed. I love it! (And when you want to watch the sunset, you can head to the hotel’s sunset lounge where you can see it sink into the sea – there’s an amazing view everywhere you look at this hotel!)” Lewis Parker, Trusted Adviser
“When I visited Santorini, I was wowed by the views from Grace Santorini. I stayed in a standard deluxe room (although you’ll enjoy the same spectacular views from every room or suite), which overlooked the famous caldera and the Aegean Sea.” Natasha Starkin, Trusted Adviser
“My pick for the best room with a view is Belmond Reid’s Palace in Madeira. I stayed in a deluxe room and the views of Funchal harbour and the town and mountains behind it were stunning. It was amazing to watch the cruise ships coming and going from the harbour, especially in the evenings when they were all lit up.” Helen Lippe, Trusted Adviser
“The view from my room at Casale Panayiotis in Cyprus was fantastic. The hotel is set on a hillside in the heart of the Troodos Mountains, so you get spectacular views of the mountains, valleys and villages.” Nadia Milne, Team Leader
“Staying at Blue Waters & Cove Suites in Antigua a couple of weeks ago, I fell in love with the views from my balcony. I was up early for a few mornings while I was still jet-lagged, so I got to see some incredible sunrise skies!” Leanne Hall, Trusted Adviser
“My two personal favourites are the Blue Palace in Crete (above), where every room looks out towards the historic island of Spinalonga, and Belmond La Residencia in Majorca – rooms have views over the village of Deia and the lush, green mountains (very different to what I expected from Majorca!).” Amie Buxton, PA
“My choice would be the front-row Tagor villas at the Ritz-Carlton, Abama, in Tenerife. On a clear day, you can see the neighbouring island of La Gomera – and the sunsets are pretty special too.” Louise Burling, Trusted Adviser
“The view from the Grand Hotel Royal in Sorrento is by far one of my favourites. You see the grand, imposing Mount Vesuvius to the right, the beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea to the left, and glimpses of Ischia and Capri in the background. In the foreground, the fragrant lemon and lime trees always brought a beaming smile to my face. One of the most relaxing places in the world for me.” Reshmi Burgess, Trusted Adviser
